2016, изд-во: Nauka. Наука, город: Novosibirsk. Новосибирск, стр. : 295 p. 295 с., обложка: Твердый издательский переплет, формат: Увеличенный, состояние: Отличное. Тираж 500 экземпляров!. The monograph is written on the basis of studies carried out in the Siberian region from 1995 to 2004. The location of 83 Artemia lakes in huge territory from the Urals to the Altai and Sayan mountains, the characteristic of climate, lake morphometry, hydrology, hydrochemical classification of lakes are given in the monograph. Detailed description of biocenoses of salt lakes, including data on species composition of phytoplankton, zoobenthos and zooplankton and their productivity is presented in the paper. Functional dependence between number of species and index of water salinity is identified. The borders of occurrence of some species are determined. The main part of monograph is devoted by the description of Artemia biology for populations from 47 surveyed lakes in Siberia (Tyumen region - 2, Kurgan - 24, Chelyabinsk - 7, Omsk - 2, the Altai region - 8, Khakassia - 2, Tuva -2). The results of numerous morphometric studies are given. The annual dynamics of brine shrimp cysts and crustaceans number based on monitoring data, which were conducted in five lakes during 2000 – 2004 was detailed. The issues of functioning of the ecosystems of the lakes: phytoplankton and Artemia production, crustacean eating, Artemia role in purification of reservoir and others are shown separately. In the section on Artemia reproduction the information about parthenogenetic and rare bisexual populations is provided. For the first time for Siberian populations the data of cytogenetic studies and DNA analysis are given. The whole Chapter is devoted by the factors determining the density of crustaceans and the number of cysts. The problem of improving the quality of cysts associated with diapause is presented. The various ways of diapause interrupting are considered. In Conclusion, the data on long-term dynamics of Artemia cysts stock in Siberian region were conducted. Also a new method of brine srimp stocks determining, which was developed in cooperation with Belgian and American scientists, is discussed. The book is for ecologists, hydrobiologists, fish farmers, experts in the use of natural resources and environmental protection, teachers and students of High Education Schools.
